Hello and Welcome to Smoother than Smooth Hand Dance Co.

Our mission at Smoother than Smooth is to put forth our very best effort to professionally teach Hand Dance to the Fredericksburg and surrounding communities, to provide a positive social outlet for our students, and to promote awareness of Hand Dance in a fun-filled environment.

I started Smoother than Smooth Hand Dance Co. in August of 2007 in a small coffee shop in Fredericksburg.  Since then our classes have grown to the point of needing a much larger venue.  Along with my dance partner, Ms. Dana Martin, I now teach at the Sport & Health Fitness Club (Central Park) where the GX room features a large wood floor that can easily accommodate up to 75 people.  Since our inception we have been privileged to grow as an organization, as instructors and as dancers.

Our style of hand dance is patterned after Smooth & EZ contemporary hand dancing as taught by the legendary Lawrence “Brad” Bradford. We are an affiliate of the Smooth & EZ Hand Dance Institute of Washington, D.C.

Smoother than Smooth provides detailed instruction in three classes every Saturday.  We offer a beginner class that is geared toward the brand new student with little or no Hand Dance instruction and an intermediate class for students with a basic grasp of Hand Dance techniques.  At the end of the intermediate session we feature an elegant graduation ceremony for our intermediate students to show off what they have learned to their friends and family. In addition to the beginner and intermediate classes, Smoother than Smooth challenges our graduates with an Intermediate/Advanced Workshop.

Our motto here at Smoother than Smooth is “Let’s Keep on Danc’n!”
